"Laughed at by staff"

About: Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust

I had been attacked and had something thrown at my face which had caused a big cut above my eye. I was feeling extremely traumatised and frightened and i was feeling in shock and a lot of pain. When i went into Litherland Town Hall Walk In Centre and told the person on the desk that a tv remote had been thrown at me and i needed help, she laughed at me as she told her colleague. Then when i got seen to by the nurse she laughed too. I burst into tears and said it wasn't funny for me and i was scared and only then when the doctor came to see me did the nurse apologise. I felt humiliated and it made me wish i had gone elsewhere to be seen to.

Dear Angela,

I would like to offer my apologies for the distress that this has caused. I have contacted the manager of the service but unfortunately we were unable to investigate the incident further due to the length of time that has passed since your visit. (October 12) If you would like to contact me directly with further detail we will look into it further, in the meantime the service manager has issued further written guidance to all staff reminding them of the standards that we expect at LCH.

Regards

Kate Jones
