"Hearing Aid Batteries"

I just read the related post by Arthur Linskavinski, and I have a similar problem. Initially, I had several packs of hearing aid batteries, but am now usually limited to just one pack at a time. As I am unable to get to attend clinic by myself, and our local centre is not open in the evenings or at the weekends, it means I am dependent on somebody taking time off work to take me there at least every 6 weeks. Unfortunately, I cannot rely on the postal service, either, as we have problems with our post going astray, and would therefore not want to send my hearing aid book off every 6 weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. This has enable me to look into the difficulties you have experienced and to respond to you personally.

By way of explanation all batteries have a shelf life and it has been discovered that a number of patients were not using their batteries by the use by date, it is therefore necessary to distribute resources in the most effective way possible. There was never any intention to ration the batteries that a patient needs, but rather how they are distributed to minimise wastage.

When batteries are needed the department is happy to be contacted and the batteries will be sent out in the post.

Thank you for looking into this matter so promptly - it is much appreciated. I am very relieved to hear that the Audiology department will post batteries out to me, without my having to send in my brown book - this solves the problem I have had.
