Staying in Grasmere for the weekend we visited A and E on Saturday evening as my wife had experienced chest pain / discomfort. A and E staff were outstanding, informing,caring and worked with humour. This was everything you would wish the NHS to be. My wife was kept in for further obs overnight on Larch ward, where the same qualities of staff care were noted. The lovely building helps, but if anyone wanted to see the NHS at its best, look here.
