I was admitted to CIC through A and E mid May and was transferred to Maple B abd then C. I received the absolute best care from everyone who dealt with me during my 10 day stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff work incredibly hard in often difficult circumstances, and I sometime felt that some patients were over demanding, but they were never treated with any less care or respect. Its clear that resources are an issue at times. The consultant visited regularly to keep me updated with progress. This was excellent care, and with many staff going over and above to keep morale of patients high. The food wasn't special, but it was adequate and provided a varied diet for my needs. I saw and recieved so many small acts of kindness from staff to patients which probably aren't on any target sheet anywhere, but were so helpful to recovery. My only hiccup was at discharge, and this was nothing to do with the staff in that department who did everything possible to help, but more about unclear systems and time restraints, as I had to wait some time for ambulance transport, and having just been mobile for short while and rather wobbly I became a little distressed. Heartfelt thanks to all.
"Excellent"
