"Treatment for mouth ulcer at Hallamshire and Charles Clifford"

About: Charles Clifford Dental Hospital Royal Hallamshire Hospital

(as the patient),

I developed a mouth ulcer under my tongue on the wednesday. It was really painful - I gargled with TCP and salt water, and I sucked on strepsils - but by saturday it had grown. My husband tried very hard to get me to hospital but I refused. I was up all night with the pain - I was in real agony and crying. Sunday morning, my husband insisted I go to the hospital and so I attended the walk-in at the Royal Hallamshire hospital. The first nurse who saw me was totally bewildered - she had seen nothing like it before. After seeing many doctors (equally confused), I was referred to the Charles Clifford dental hospital, where I was told that it had been caused by my teeth rubbing and so I was given mouth wash and ointment.
