our friend was transferred to QEH for recovery after brain surgery, he had been getting on quite well, now in the care of QEH he can no longer pass urine, does not know when he needs to go to the toilet, has been on constant antibiotics, has been given high blood pressure tablets when he has low blood pressure, is now in ( we think ) a state of depression, and is being left to sleep 21 hours out of 24. He is being kicked out of QEH because they don't know what to do with him! and they say care professionals, it is disgusting the way this man is being treated. The wife is beside herself because she does not know what to do next, she can see her husband, who was a very clever, witty energetic granddad reduced to a sleeping, withdrawn person who has spent the majority of 10 weeks in bed, with a catheter in for the convenience of the staff, not the patient. A dog would be treated with more humanity, respect and kindness than this man. Has he got to die, before an enquiry is in force, he fell out of bed whilst on trinity ward, and had a brain bleed, but "their enquiry" has not been forthcoming. This is terrible, and should be public knowledge, but the family fear reprisals.
"a broken man"
