"Undergoing a knee operation wasn't ..."

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Undergoing a knee operation wasn't upsetting or worrying for me at all. My consultant, who I had been already seeing for 7 months was very friendly as ever and his registrar who visited me a few times on the ward was the same. My physiotherapist, who I had been having for 7 months as well, was veryy nice. Everyone in CAU was very nice and friendly. The anaesthetists and theatre nurses who accompanied me in the anesthetic room were also very nice and cracking jokes.

:D

What could be improved

The nurses on my first day (the 16th), I felt, were not as nice as they could have been. When I had to push the emrgency button they looked very put out. I was 14 at the time and evn though I was on a childrens ward, was put in a room with newborn babies. I felt as though each room should have ages close together in them, as there were other rooms with people of the same age.

The food was dreadful.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know what you thought of your care. We do share your view about the children's ward and we are looking at ways we might be able to change things around so that older children have their own area. We'll pass your message on to the catering manager about the food and to the ward sister.
