"Excellent maternity care"

About: Broomfield Hospital

Broomfield Hospital is out of area for me but I chose to have my son there after my sister had received such good care having her child there. Due to being out of area I had to see a community midwife (from Basildon Hospital) for my antenatal appointments. I measured very small but my community midwife would not send me for a growth scan. As soon as I got to Broomfield when I was in labour, they measured me and put me as high risk ASAP due to the fact I measured so small. Whilst giving birth, they had a various nurses and paediatricians waiting just in case anything was wrong due to having such a small bump and my son was born weighing 4lb 10oz so very small. He was checked over immediately and was fine but the fact this issue was picked up as soon as I got to the hospital was such a relief as it was something that I had been worried about for a while. The midwives even managed to find me something for my son to wear whilst my other half went out and bought tiny baby clothes as everything I had was miles to big for him. I received such excellent care. I had to stay in with baby for a few days because he wouldn't feed from the breast or bottle at first and again, the treatment was outstanding. I had my own side room with a bathroom. The area was cleaned every day and I wanted for nothing there. I will definitely be having my next child there and strongly recommend the same to other people.
