I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage and given some options on dealing with the matter, I opted for the medical treatment. I was to have tablets every 3 hours and kept having to mind staff on that my dosage was over due sometimes 25 minuted late. I felt as though I was pestering them as they replied with "let me just finish my tea and I'll be through" and they always seemed to be changing shifts when my meds were due...I was only happy with one of the nurses who was lovely and made me feel nothing was too much trouble. I was to go to the loo using bedpans and had to have them collected every time I'd been to the toilet for the nurse to look at. I had 3 bedpans lining up at one point as whenever I pressed my buzzer it took them around 10 - 25 minutes to come and see me. After about 3 doses of my medicine I was in a lot of pain, so they brought me gas & air very quickly and it worked so they were good at releiving my pain. Things slowed after that and I had to stay in over night, come morning nothing had happened so I had an internal with a speculum and the Doctor pulled the remains of my pregnancy and fetus from me which I found quite painful and undignified for the fetus. I was wrongly advised about this procedure and felt I was put in a room and just left to get on with it. I was given no aftercare advice. I wish I'd of just let it happen naturally. I know dealimg with miscarriage is never going to be nice I just feel ward staff did not help try and make my experience any easier. However I'll point out the cleaning and hot drinks staff from Interserve fm were always lovely, nothing was too much trouble and you never had to ask for anything as it was always offered before you had to ask.
