"This hospital probably saved my husbands life"

About: The Royal London Hospital

my 54 year old husband had abdominal pain for several months. Eventually we went to casualty. Were seen promptly by an excellent GP, then a surgeon, who diagnosed appendicitis. She was right. He had surgery later that night. The appendix was huge, had a suspicious part on it and was just about to burst. The communication throughout was good and the nurses friendly and professional. The surgeon came at 4 am in the morning to check my husband and to speak with us both an explain the results. That was very kind indeed as it stopped us worrying. He was discharged the next day. Since then there have been several followups, a colonoscopy, scans etc and I am certain that the standard of care has been high. If we were in the states the total value of the services received would have been 70,000 GBP or more. There is none watching the bill or the clock so one less thing to worry about. Very happy and relieved. Three out of four family members have used the London this year after decades of never going there and on each occasion it has been really good with only minor details negative and nothing that really mattered. Well done and thank you.
