I went into CGH for an eye operation after attending the Optometry Clinic for one year, I was seen each time by the same Consultant or by a member of his team. I can honestly say that the treatment I received from the whole team at CGH was professional and very caring I was treated with dignity and respect and actually enjoyed my appointments which were informative of my condition. Although I attended clinic for a year and tried a number of options for my visual problems ultimately it was recommended that I had an operation. The preassesment to the operation was very thorough and comprehensive; I felt reassured although I was extremely nervous particularly on the day of the op. I was impressed with the way that I was treated by the whole team from the moment that I arrived till the moment that I went home, in particular the nursing staff and the consultant who conducted the op and the anaesthetist as I needed a general anaesthetic. The operation went well and I was discharged later in the day. I felt well looked after and was given extensive instructions for my aftercare. I would like to say a BIG Thank you to all the staff who looked after me before and after my stay and for the operation. I no longer have double vision which is brilliant!
