"the excellantcare care i recieved ..."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

the excellantcare care i recieved and the way most of the nurses introduced themselves to you and explained what they were going to do.

What could be improved

ending the mixed sex wards, they are an affront to privacy and dignity and therefore respect for the patient. such a system in 2009 is not good anough, everything said to the female patient and vice versa can be heard of the most intimate and personal details, female and male patients sharing the same toilet facilities is wrong, i walked in on a female patient sat on the toilet(she had not locked the door) we were both embarrassed, there is no male/female signs on the toilet door, otherwise this would not have happened.

Anything else?

car parking charges are unreasonable, you make the most money out of the most sick and long stay patients, its cuts down on vistor time to save their expense and adds extra worry to patients and visitors a like on top of their medical worries.

Dear Mr Paulson,

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment and I am pleased to read your comments regarding the care and treatment provided by the nursing team. I was saddened to read about your experience in relation to mixed sex accomodation. Our Trust has a commitment to providing care and treatment that respects patients' dignity at all times in an appropriate environment and I would welcome contact from you so that I can explore the issue that you raise regarding mixed sex accomodation more fully.

Sylvia Knight

Chief Nurse
