"Home after first class care."

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I have already submitted a review, but felt that now that my husband has been discharged I could give a better informed view of the hospital and staff. The hospital itself is a pleasant environment with little touches that make it more welcoming. The artwork and gardens are lovely. Every time I visited (28 times!) cleaning staff were busy and other staff bustled around with purpose. The doctors, nurses and ward staff involved in my husband's care were very professional and informative at all times. We cannot fault their efforts to aid his recovery. Nothing was too much trouble and they addressed our concerns calmly and with sensitivity. Many thanks to you all. The ladies who run the little shop are just lovely and even remembered my coffee order every visit. So - although we hope not to return to hospital any time soon, we know that we would receive good care and attention at Wansbeck GH.

Dear Madam I really appreciate the time that you have taken to provide us with some more valuable feedback now that your husband has returned home. For me, your story beautifully illustrates just how important it is for patients to consistently receive high quality care from kind staff who want to do all they can to help. I know the team will be delighted to know what this has meant for both you and your husband. You also highlight that it is often the little things that make a big difference. Thank you so much for your kind words about the artwork and gardens in the hospital. I know that Brenda Longstaff who is responsible for these special touches will be delighted! I will also make sure that the ladies at the coffee shop get to see your feedback. We really value the time and commitment that our volunteers give to hospital and it is lovely to know how much this is appreciated by our patients and visitors too. I hope that your husband continues to recover well at home. Best Wishes Annie
