What I liked
Not a lot. Ward C2 is understaffed and the nurses have very little understanding of Dementia. The key aim appears to be discharge patients as quickly as possible even if their condition and circumstances preclude it. Staff doctors or trainee's change Consultants directives without any consultation with relatives. Staff make statements and then deny having made them when questioned about it later
What could be improved
Patient to staff ratio is far too low. Nursing staff are unable to tend the patients needs as they are hard pressed just to complete the bare minimum of care.
Staff are in need of training on how to deal with patients suffering from Dementia. This is even more important now as Dementia is on the increase daily. (Over 7000 Recorded Cases in the Medway Towns alone)
