"The way the nurses were understanding ..."

About: Yeovil District Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The way the nurses were understanding and willing to answer any questions. Also how they respected my privacy. The doctors were very efficient and my operation was carried out that night - i was allowed to go home the next evening!

What could be improved

Changing from mixed sex to single sex wards.

Anything else?

Thank you to all the nurses and doctors that treated me.

Yeovil District Hospital does everything it can to ensure the privacy and dignity of patients within the constraints of its buildings. All inpatient wards specialise in particular medical conditions to ensure patients receive care in the appropriate setting. Yeovil District Hospital is compliant with mixed sex accommodation with same gender patients nursed in bays on the specialist wards that care for both men and women. Side rooms are also available on every ward. The bathroom and toilet facilities are signposted for each gender and are positioned at the entrance to each bay. The Day Surgery unit, emergency admission units and A&E are mixed sex wards with privacy and dignity maintained by curtains – it is only short-stay patients who are accommodated in these units.
