"Don't believe the hype"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Surrey PCT

(as the patient),

I started getting back pain whenever I ran about a year and a half ago. Doctor said it was a Sacroiliac injury and referred me for physio. Physio said it was a facet joint dysfunction, and gave me exercises that made me feel worse. I started paying for osteopathy which helped a little with the pain which had now extended down my entire left leg and was crippling at times. In June I paid for my own MRI and I had a slipped disc. Suddenly everyone was saying that it was obvious that was the problem from my symptoms. In August I had a massive relapse and couldn't move from the foetal position for a week and was told by a physio I needed surgery. I saw my GP in Sept and asked to be referred to the Stanmore Hospital for treatment. 14 weeks later I get a letter back saying they can't see me and I've been referred to my local hospital. I now have an appointment to see the consultant in MARCH! 18 weeks my arse!
