I was admitted as a day case on Rawcliffe for a Hernia repair around 6weeks ago now. The aftercare I received was close to non existent. On return to the ward I told the nurse 'looking after me' that i was suffering with nausea, her response was "its normal" yet in the leaflets she gave me on my return (which I should have had prior to the op) said to notify a member of staff if suffering with nausea so they could administer something for it. I didn't want something to eat the first time I was offered as I still felt unwell and the nurse did not appear happy that I had refused food so when she next offered it I obliged. She returned with toast smothered in butter which made me feel worse and I had to get my partner to eat it as I could stomach it and feared if it wasn't gone I couldn't be discharged and I didn't want to be there longer then I had to be due to the lack of care I received from the nurse. When I was being discharged I was asked about levels of pain/sickness and the level, she scored these different and less to what I had said. I also mentioned at this point that I felt light headed and that I felt I may pass out again her response was blunt and she said "I will be finished soon and you can go". She finished her paperwork and said I could go. I have since found out I now have to have the procedure repeated and the hernia is bigger then it was prior to surgery. I will not return to Chorley for this. I made a complaint about my treatment following my op and I still have not received a reply, a month later!
"Disgusting, dismisive treatement regarding..."
