"blood tests"

About: Southampton NHS Treatment Centre

I was somewhat surprised to have my blood taken and a cannula inserted by a doctor who was not gloved up. I understood that wearing protective gloves was mandatory. When the cannula was inserted the blood shot all over my hand and onto the curtains. This doctor took my blood few days later and againdid not wear gloves. Apart from these incidents my care was second to none and the anaesthetist was so reassuring and helped me overcome my fear of anaesthetic. Thank you all for your excellent care.

Sorry for the delay in our response. We are very sorry to hear of your concerns regarding gloves, everyone should wear PPE (personal protective equipment) and this has been fed back. However, we are delighted to hear that all other aspects of your care was second to none. Thank you for your feedback, both positive and negative.
