"The casualty staff in reception ..."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The casualty staff in reception and the doctors and nurses where lovely in this department. cannot fault them. clean, afficient and friendly, cannot fault the hospital except for certain nurses in the plaster clinic

What could be improved

Some of the staff in the plaster room seemed more bothered about what they were doing that night than showing any sympathy for my 4 yr old son who was having his leg plastered due to a broken leg. When we have revisited this area for the cast taking off the same plaster nurse started tutting at me and shaking her head because I picked him up rather than making him walk with crutches that he had just started using. hes 4! He was shaking and crying, hes was frightened. I will go to another hospital if I break anything!

I carried him to the car, and he has since started using tham without this staff member making him upset.

We are sorry that staff appear to have caused distress and would be pleased to investigate further if the parents would make contact at Paul.jepson@midyorks.nhs.uk
