"Phlebotomy communications"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

Friday morning from 9.45am until 10.20am I have just spent 35 minutes trying to contact someone to make an appt for a blood test. The GP surgery had no availability for two weeks so I wanted to make an appointment for Newington Clinic. I found the number I am supposed to ring, 01843 235000, and it was either engaged or ringing as no reply. At one point it was ringing for 5mins 50secs before it dropped out, then when I rang it was engaged ... Obviously some other frustrated being trying to make an appointment! Eventually I rang a pathology secretary who forwarded the call. I now have an appt for next week but could really do without the time wasted trying to speak to someone. Please answer the in coming calls, and if your reply is a shortage of staff then maybe the managers should start to manage.
