"wound opening following abdominal muscle repair"

About: Kingston Hospital

I was admitted into kingston on Alex ward for muscle repair through open surgery. I was told this went well, daytime staff was great night time staff dismal. After staples got removed I presented myself to AnE complaining of pains and burning to my wound, it turned out my wound had opened up. I was admitted to the AAU ward and the surgical team took over my care from there. Again the day nurses was amazing, always had time to discus any concerns, however the night staff, who I have since found out are agency staff are vile. They do no work, leave patients to look after other patients while they go on facebook and chat to each other, and if you ask for help they tEell you that they are under staffed running 3 bays and you will have to wait. (like I said facebook) since being discharged and being told don't worry my wound will heal and not open any more, well it has not healed and has opened more. I would not recommend this place to anyone. On top of that I am in so much pain and I am left getting my 19yr old son to change my dressings everyday, and too scared well anxious to go back to the hospital.
