"Consultant in rheumatology"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

The Consultant in rheumatology leicester royal, came across as very rude as i entered the clinic room he had his head in his hands saying i dont know what we are going to do with you.At this comment i was very upset as my gp had sent to to him as i was under alot of pain.He was frowning at me and straight away i felt uneasy. And started to cry he didnt like me getting upset and kept tutting and cross analyzing me because i was in tears. He said i have to appear to be sympathetic because of what your gp and you have told me . Admittedly the pain was greatly reduced due to the fact i had taken different pain relief eg tramadol ect the pain comes and goes from mid to severe.I got the feeling he was not interested and didnt believe anything I told him.

Dear Mrs Truthfull, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really sorry to hear about your experience of our Rheumatology department at the Royal. This is unacceptable and does not reflect the level of care we expect our patients to receive. We would like to investigate your concerns further so we can improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please could you send your details (name, address, date of birth and hospital number) to Linda Dales, service manager - Linda.Dales@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester’s Hospitals
