"Thanks to April House I'm free and happy"

Since the age of 13 I have suffered on and off with Bulimia to various degrees. After my husband leaving me two years ago for a younger woman I slipped straight back into binge eating and purging cycle as I thought he left me because I was fat.

I have two beautiful sons who are my life, and what I was doing to myself started to really frighten me. I felt in a place to stop this and I went to my GP who referred me to April House. I had over a years therapy and have finally cracked it. Little by Little I was given homework and food logs to fill out and I completed every piece given to me as I was so determined to make a difference. All along the way I was given total encouragement by the therapists at April House.

I was discharged recently and I feel totally confident that I will never purge again. That's just not me, and I'm never going back to that. I wanted to share this with you in the hope that I can inspire others to do the same. The help is there and the staff will get you through it but you have to give 100% yourself too, which you can. We are all fighters we just have to believe in ourselves.

I'm finally free, happy, confident and, for once in my life, have a healthy self esteem and self worth. I hope you feel inspired reading this and can win the battle like I have and enjoy the rest of this beautiful life we are so blessed with.
