(as the patient),

Called to make an appointment with my local GP.

Was given an appointment but had to wait two weeks, was told this was the norm.

Dear Goodier

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of having to wait for a GP appointment. I have now had a chance to speak to some one about this and am advised that all Practices must have available emergency/ on the day slots. There is however no time limit laid down for routine appointments.

If you wish to contact me directly, I would be happy to make the specific Practice aware of your concerns.
