"Superb team in Day Surgery Unit"

I attended the Day Surgery Unit on 16th May 2014 for a Knee Arthroscopy. I cannot speak too highly of the whole team in this unit - in order of appearance - Reception Staff, Charge Nurse, Physiotherapist, Anaesthetist, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Anaesthetic Room staff and Recovery Room staff. The treatment I received from everyone was of the highest calibre - I left the hospital early evening after the arthroscopy - my knee was not swollen and I had no pain whatsoever, both of which would be expected after such surgery. There is no doubt in my mind that the consultant is a superb and very highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon. As recommended on my Physiotherapy Information Sheet, I started the exercises the next day and I am still amazed at the speed of my recovery. Before this operation I had severe knee pain which prevented me from walking any distance, doing Pilates and going walking with the Blackpool Victoria Hospital Walking Club. By the way I don't work at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and anyone can join this friendly and sociable walking club! My husband over the last few years has had treatment in the Cardiac Centre and the Haematology Department, and has without exception received the very highest standard of treatment and care.
