What I liked

Not a lot really, we brought our dad into the A&E department at about 11am. He was disorientated slurring his words and we waited over an hour just to see the first nurse. Then we waited a further 3 hours to go through to a cubicle. It was clear to us he'd had a stroke, he thought King George was still on the throne, it was 1963 and that it was Spring but the doctor still didn't start any medication. According to the stroke Association early treatment can prevent further brain damage. Later to make the A&E figures look good he was transfered to a Medical assessment ward. He saw no one until 12:45 am on the Sunday morning, still no medication was given, it took some "good luck" that the consultant on duty the next morning a stroke specialist and he moved my dad on to F3.

What could be improved

Keep the patient informed and if the patient shows any symptoms of stroke act quickly. You could also keep the family informed.
