"Gold Standard Care"

All the contact I had with every member of the staff at the hospital was outstanding. I was admitted to A&E and was dealt with promptly and efficiently with great friendliness by both the nurse and the doctor who assessed me. They were hugely reassuring and extremely kind. In particular, the care I received and witnessed over the 2 days I spent on Elstead Ward was absolutely amazing. Every member of all the teams of staff without exception - including those cleaning and supporting the nursing staff - acted with the greatest professionalism and patience along with warmth, sensitivity and humour. There were some very busy and testing periods, but at all times I was amazed and impressed by the kindness and conduct of all the staff who worked so hard to ensure everyone's stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible. There was always someone around checking on the patients, the endless bells were answered so quickly and efficiently and with such kindness and good humour. It was absolutely as pleasant an experience as a stay in hospital can be. And compliments to the chefs as the food choices and quality was great. I would like my comments and great thanks to be relayed to all the staff on Elstead. They are an absolute credit to the NHS. I have always found the Royal Surrey to be of an excellent standard but my experience this time really was outstanding in all aspects. A huge huge thank you to all involved in my care.
