Having been to our local hospital, we are used to waiting for 4 weeks for a letter to be written, and then several weeks for an appointment. Here, we were amazed. We were lucky to get a cancellation, and the whole thing took under a month from first contact to seeing a doctor. The secretary I spoke to, remembered who I was after a week, had a sense of humour, and did exactly what she promised! It was great. The doctor in the IRPRN clinic is a very warm person, professional but friendly. She could teach the best Customer Services Advisor a few tricks on how to communicate with others. And what other doctor is so keen to return your call on the same day that they work until 7.30 in the evening? Even my GP clocks off at 5.30 on the dot. Although the end result was exactly as predicted by the Consultant who referred us, it was nice to have a second opinion. We can't comment on the accommodation as we were only day patients. Cleaning would have got more, but one toilet was out of action and the other had no paper in it on the day we visited. The bin was full of hand towels, and we got the feeling it had been some time since anyone had checked it. As our appointment was at 10 am, we had to travel Peak. It cost £73. Overall, I think it was well worth the money we spent.
