On fri 9th of may i took my 1 year old baby boy to a and e as he had banged his head after falling out of his high chair onto laminate flooring. I originally rang 111 and spoke to a clinical nurse who suggested I take him straight away to the hospital as a head injury in a infant can be tricky to judge. I was taken to hospital by husband. I booked in my son at the reception and was seen by a nurse for a quick assessment which just checked his heart rate straight away. I then had to wait another 1 and a half hours to be seen by a doctor , the doctor was rude and only flashed a light in his eyes and said he had concussion. He asked why i had brought him to a and e as the baby seemed fine. He said that if any more problems happened I should take him to the childrens hospital as the alex don't have facilites for children. He said to give him paracetamol when I get home. And then i left after 2 minutes with the doctor. The doctor was rude and i felt i had wasted his time. Also the waiting room was filthy there was dried blood all over the floor and mud etc. I thought hospitals are supposed to be clean. Also my baby caught MRSA from the alex aswel when he was born so to say I hate this hospital is an understatement. I will in future take him or any of my family to the birmingham hospitals even if it means i have to pay for a taxi etc. The alex is such a let down
