"Endoscopy Unit"

About: Shotley Bridge Hospital Site

I attended the endoscopy unit for a flexible cystoscopy and was a little bit apprehensive. Upon entering the unit you are made welcome by,the receptionist, the named nurse put you at ease. The procedure was explained fully and I was given the opportunity to ask any questions. The doctor again came and explained the procedure and asked for conswent. Upon entering the examination room the team are talking to you continuously and asking if you are OK. The procedure is quite painless and afterwards the doctor explained the results and a note is given to you explaining what to expect over 24 hrs and contact numbers should you feel concerned. All in all an experience not to be concerned about and my thanks to all staff in the unit
