My daughter, Chloe, suffered a concussion and was taken to Trauma and Orthopaedics at Royal Berkshire. As she has a complex medical condition, I came to hospital to be with her and be her advocate. I have to say the nursing staff was fabulous and would like especially to comment on one. She took the time to research Chloe's medical background, was respectful, thoughtful and kind. She really went out of her way to make sure Chloe's anxiety was well managed and went the extra mile, as far as I am concerned. Chloe has spent a lot of time in hospital and so we know when someone is good! She deserves to be recognised as that rare individual who not only has skill and knowledge, but is able to combine that with being a truly good human being. I would also like to add that her consultant, was thoughtful enough to come to the ward to discuss Chloe's condition and seemed to take an interest and take into account our thoughts and opinions. Too often, consultants ignore a patient's understanding of their case. He was an exception.
"fabulous nursing care"
