"Improvement to kg with Wifi broadband internet..."

About: King George Hospital

As an ex heather ward inpatient of 8 weeks duration in early 2013 may I offer a suggestion as regards improving patient care at King George. hospital Treatment offered and administered are excellent and beyond reproach there, but could I suggest that to reduce boredom and stress to patients and thereby staff, that facilities be improved by installing Free Wi-Fi broadband internet within the hospital area,(as is been done in other counties) This improvement could much reduce the get well times within the wards and thereby reduce the costs in the medium term of running the hospital. It would mean that patients could take portable laptop and tablet computers etc equipment into hospital with them when admitted.(with head phones) and operate them. The purchase equipment for the hospital is relatively cheap and benefits to the patients(and staff) would be much improved in the long term. Wi-Fi is increasingly been adopted within hospitals through out the world and is available mostly free.. regards John

Thank you for taking the time to comment on NHS Choices. I am very pleased to hear that you found the care on Heather ward to be excellent. Thank you also for giving us your feedback about how we can improvement the patient experience – wifi would provide a welcome distraction for many. I will pass your comment onto our IT department for consideration. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
