"90yr old discharged without informing the next of..."

About: Worthing Hospital

After a 3 week stay in Barrow ward my aunt was discharged home to an empty flat and no member of her family was informed about her discharge. When an explanation was demanded the ward informed the family that they spoke to the paitents son the previous day. She does not have a son and never has. None of the relatives listed were informed at any time that she would be coming home. She was left by the ambulance service in an empty flat with no food or water and it was only when the caretaker of the flats called a care agency that the family found out she was home
