I have had both brilliant treatment from the Peter Hodgekins Center and not so brilliant. I was diagnosed with PTSD and given nothing but the best help from the psychiatrist and everyone treated me with dignity and respect. The problems started when i was discharged without any warning as an outpatient that the problems started, i was just told that i didn't need their services, even though i do. I was then given a referral to another psychiatrist from my gp and was dismissed and told i have no problems and would not let me speak for myself, he just kept firing questions at me, you can't request what psychiatrist you want to see as it is located by area and i have moved since the PTSD and iam very unwell and have called the Samaritans and tried to keep myself alive, iam currently on no medications apart from sleeping tablets and i am completely able to function in life, my GP got me a referral to the archway center but i do not feel that they fully understand my problems and iam currently trying to ring the crisis team but they are not picking up the phone i would like to see the psychiatrist who helped me through my ptsd but you are not allowed to chose who you see, which i feel is detrimental to getting better and doesn't allow you to build a rapport
