"Neurology"

About: Salford Royal

I first attended neurology dept last year, and saw a lovely consultant, who turned out to only be a locum! My follow up appt, following my MRI and lumber puncture was unfortunately not with the original doctor. The one I had the mis fortune to see was so arrogant and un compassionate. To be told you have ms and there's nothing we can do, to me is unacceptable. I was told that the letter would be sent to me with information in the post. 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting!! According to websites, I should have been referred t an ms clinic for physio etc, this wasn't even offered to me, and as a result my GP, has actually referred me to one! To be allowed to leave in floods of tears, with no support given at all, to me is disgusting, and glad I hadn't gone for this appt alone! If I ever receive this letter and information, rest assured I will be making a formal complaint!

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you are unhappy with your recent consultation. You have mentioned you would like to make a formal complaint, PALS (pals@srft.nhs.uk) can advise on the options available for you to make a complaint, along with details on independent advocacy for those making a complaint against an NHS organisation.
