"MIU"

The Minor Injury Unit is a vital service and should be open 24/7 I have used the MIU many times and have recently been disappointed that despite advertising it being open 9-5, it was closed due to staff shortage. I think there should be full time access to Minor Injury treatment to avoid the strain on A&E deprtments. If the MIU is closed, then a notice should be placed on the door explaining why. Lack of infromation is not good, not even the ambulance service knew that the MIU was closed. I cannot fault treatment that I have received there, but would urge a reconsideration of how the MIU is staffed and what hours it runs.
