My wife and I attended the A&E dept. this afternoon. She had experienced speech difficulties associated with a headache. She was seen within 15 minutes and was fully assessed first by the triage nurse and then by a specialist stroke nurse and stroke doctor. She then had a CT scan followed by a Doppler examination of the neck arteries. Blood tests were also taken. Happily all was well. We then sat down with these two lovely people who explained everything and reassured us that we should return if the symptoms recurred. We cannot praise her treatment too highly. In all we were in the hospital just over two and a half hours. What a wonderful NHS we have!
"Brilliant treatment received this afternoon"
