I feel I must express my utter frustration at the lack of response when attempting to make a telephone enquiry into the waiting list office. I was seen by a consultant at a neighbouring hospital in Dec and again in Feb 14 and consequencently told my surgery would take place at the QMC and estimated to be schedules for May this year. Having heard nothing from the QMC I have made several attempts to find out when my operation may be or at least when I can expect to be given a date. Initally I did speak to a secretary who chased up my enquiry and called me back saying that my operation would mostly likely be in June and that an appointment would be posted out to me in the next few days. 4/5 weeks passed and no appointment so made several attempts to contact someone, eventually was sucessful, only to be told I was on the system but not on the waiting list and that she would investigate and contact me the following week. This was now several weeks ago and no contact has been made and each time I call the extension number I was given it line goes straight to answer phone, I have left several messages but to no avail. At this point dispite having a copy of the letter sent from my consultant to my GP informing him of my referral for an operation, I still don't know if at all I'm on the waiting list and have no idea when I may or may not be called in for my operation, can't plan any holidays or leave from work and am extremely frustrated.
