"I was admitted with severe injuries ..."

About: Conquest Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted with severe injuries from a car crash. The emergency treatment and subsequent care saved my life. I was in intensive care and high dependency for about 10 days where the standard of care and cleanliness was first class. subsequently I was transferred to a general ward, where the age of the patients and work load put on to the nursing staff was at times burdensome.

What could be improved

Additional nursing staff to assist the geriatric patients even though I was not in a geriatric ward.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased you found the ‘standard of care and cleanliness was first class’. We are currently reviewing all nursing staffing levels and have a plan in place to increase the numbers of trained nurses and enhance the skill mix on the wards. We are confident that staffing will be matched with patients needs.
