The staff on this ward give serious concern. 2 Healthcare Assistants think it highly amusing that a patient with a pressure sore on the bottom of the spine should be made to sit in a chair on said spine. The pressure sore went unnoticed for a time until my wife rang and asked them to look at it. Several important issues were not recorded in my notes and when this was raised the notes were hastily updated using the dates that had been missed ! I am sure this is illegal. I think that they should be given palliative and McMillan awareness training. Because most of them have no respect or compassion for cancer patients at all. A Doctor did not like being asked direct questions concerning my condition and wanted to discharge me even though i was immobile. The doctor became aggressive towards my wife. A nurse later came and offered me a PALs information form just in case I wanted to complain. ! Was this to pacify the situation ? After a couple of weeks on this ward I was moved to another Ward . Thank goodness, the change in atmosphere was amazing.
