"hysterectomy repair"

About: Colchester General Hospital

I have recently been into Colchester for surgery and cannot fault this hospital.Pre operative checks were done as an outpatient and the staff had as much time as Ineeded to answer all my questions and went out of thier way to assure me I was a very fit lady.On admission day I called at 6am to check that my bed was still available and was admitted by 7am.I was checked by the surgeons registra and anayathist they were both friendly end reassuring. At 9am I was taken to the theatre and greeted with a veryvreassuring smile by the consultant.I was told at each stage what was going on.I came round in recovery and asked the nurse if she could call my husband (who is not very well)to let him know I was ok.Next thing she came back with the phoned dialled my number and Iwas able to tell him that I was fine..I was taken back to the ward and the staff were pleased to see me and very friendly..The nursing care was excellent and when I was vomiting from the anythetic in the night and needed help the nurse came quickly and was kind and understanding.Next morning the consultant came round and told me that the surgery had gone very well and the best thing I could do was to try and get moving and then when I had eaten lunch okI could go home. When I was discharged I was told where I could be picked up easily and a nurse from thecward carried my bag and escourted me to my waiting car. Lovely staffalways kind and informative.Colchester Hospital is getting so much right, it is a shame that things that have been wrong are blown up in the media .I could not of had better service ifI had gone private.
