"Continued rudeness from one doctor"

About: Cambridgeshire PCT

(as the patient),

I have been truly astonished at the attitude I encountered from a particular doctor on the few occasions I’ve had to see her at Cathedral Medical Centre, Princess of Wales Hospital, Ely. It is difficult to describe without sounding like I’m just getting personal but, from the outset of each visit, I was made to felt like I was an inconvenient interruption. On starting the consultations it would get worse. I found the doctor to be discourteous, abrasive and actually there were a couple of moments where frankly she was outright rude. Once I was reduced to tears!

I have never had such an experience with other doctors, I’ve always had wonderful service and particularly appreciated it, given the pressures they have to work under. Had it been a one-off experience, I would have shrugged it off as someone having a bad day and never let it bother me. However it would seem that she really needs some patient care training, at the very least!

I do intend to make some sort of formal complaint, but only after my treatment is finished and I can change doctors. I worry about doing it whilst still receiving treatment. I feel I must make a complaint though in case of the impact she could have on people not able to cope with such rude treatment, particularly if it puts people who are genuinely ill off seeing her, who knows what could happen! As soon as I can I’ll be off to another doctors for sure!
