"Absolutely outstanding"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

From the care from paramedics who met me at my flat, to the team of nurses who observed me overnight and throughout the next day, to the mental health team who have supported me since my discharge the level of care I received was fantastic. Only down side is the quality of hospital food - a lot of choice but really doesnt make you feel any better. I hope my words of thanks are passed onto the team as they have been incredible in a really dark and difficult time

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion websites regarding the care you received from our Trust. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication. It was reassuring to hear that you thought the quality of care you received from the paramedics, A&E Staff, the nurses, and the Mental Health team was excellent. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to all the staff involved.

Your comments about the catering have been reviewed by Mrs Kathryn Mitchell, Deputy Head of Facilities in liaison with Sodexo Healthcare our private sector partners. Mrs Mitchell is sorry that you were not happy with the quality of the food served to patients. We work closely with our food provider and the Trust dieticians on a continual basis to ensure that we implement a food service that meets the nutritional needs of all our patients. We always try to ensure that the food we offer to patients is of a good quality and nutritious value and your experience will be shared with the catering team to ensure that we are providing meals to patients that are prepared well and served within a timely manner to ensure that they are delivered to the patient at their best.
