"RSSC is it still open?"

About: Royal Papworth Hospital (Papworth Everard)

I got transferred from the london chest hospital to papworth to be treated for "severe obstructive sleep apnoea" and was first seen in December. A course of treatment was agreed and I was admitted for an overnight sleep study for half the night then to be tried on different machines to assist my breathing. 7 hours after admittance I was informed that the treatment I had been admitted for is not given at papworth. After months of calling and being told that I would receive a call back I still havent received a call from anyone that I have been trying to contact and when I notified them that they were trying to treat the wrong aspects of my condition as my apnoea is caused by my jaw physically dropping back and closing the airway. I have repeatedly asked to be referred to maxillofacial as i will need a specialist mandibular advancement device and constant non responses forced me to speak directly to my local maxfac unit and from there ive had to get referred from my doctors to get any treatment. Ive been off work now for over a year and it seems that thus condition is not taken seriously or the unit is woefully inadequate for what they are supposed to be offering. I have had the admin manager contact me and promise the earth like the others but alas the same problems occur, ie no response!
