"Recent Surgery"

About: Solihull Hospital

Following recent surgery at the hospital I would praise the surgeons and the anaesthetists for outstanding work but the standard of nursing on the ward was appalling. They ignored repeated requests for a urine bottle and seemed to care more about chatting in the corridor than looking after the patients. Cleanliness of uniforms was poor and there appeared to be no changing of gloves between patients and any attention to cleanliness when changing dressings. There appeared to be no shortage of staff and I would describe the administration as a shambles. They need to get their act together.

I am very sorry to hear that the nursing care was not up to standard during your admission. I have passed on your comments to our Chief Nurse. Kind regards Margaret Mitchell Deputy Head of Patient Services
