"D&C at St George's Hospital - NHS at its best."

I was 9 weeks pregnant and told by my IVF clinic that the baby had died and I needed a D&C. The next day I went as a walk in patient to the early pregnancy unit at 8.30am. I was seen immediately, the doctors scanned me again and confirmed my baby had died. The doctor was lovely and kind and explained my options. I chose to have a d&c. I was told I could have the procedure that day as a day patient. I was told to return at 11.30am and then they took my blood and I filled in forms. at 1.30pm I went to the day surgery unit and was given robes to change into. They gave me the operation at about 3pm and I left at about 5pm. All of the staff were really caring and kind. I was very upset but they were lovely. The service and compassion they demonstrated show that the NHS really is a wonderful institution.
