"Appointments dept is a joke!!!"

About: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital

I was internally referred by a consultant at ROH in Sept 2013 to one of their spinal consultants.  I rang their appointments line numerous times chasing an appointment and on many occasions was told they would call me back.  I even asked to speak to a manager thinking they would take note.  Needless to say, none of them, including the manager, returned my call and each time gave me excuses - even trying to blame my GP who had nothing to do with it! After writing a long letter of complaint, I eventually received an appointment in March.  I was informed by letter that they would fully respond to my complaints within 35 working days. I was then informed by email, after complaining about other issues, that I would receive a response by 18 April.  Needless to say, 35 working days expired approx. 1 week ago as has 18 April and I am still awaiting to hear from them! It seems the only way to get any response is to complain on this site!

Dear Ms Gooch, thank you for your comments and recent email correspondence. I would like to reiterate my sincere apologies for the delays you have experienced to receive the formal response to your complaint and concerns. I will be finalising this for you tomorrow and will contact you by email when this is signed off and ready to send. with best wishes Claire Williams, Patient Relations Manager
