A relative of mine has just been into your hospital for major surgery. A Nurse that was treating them in HDU told them that he had qualified overseas in a 3 month training course, how is that sufficient? when our nurses have a 4 year Degree course to complete. When they moved to ward 8 they waited 5 hours for pillow cases to be put onto the bed, and the light above the bed is held together with micropore tape!! One of the lights in the room is hanging by its cable. My relative was left without pain relief for 4 hours even though they had spoken to a nurse on the ward, Thankfully we've now got them home, hopefully we wont have to return! Please don't tell me to speak to the PALS service!
