"The techniques have really worked for me"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I felt I was starting to lose control of worrying. Big relief when I was given support from IM. Hannah was really friendly, made me feel at ease and such a good listener.

The homework was really important and made me reflect on exactly what my worries were. The techniques have really worked for me and I now feel I am more prepared to be realistic about worries.

My first thought now is ‘what’s the worst that can happen, and does it matter? ’ I realised a lot of the time my worries were hypothetical, and the practical ones were easy to solve.

I can think of lots of other people who need CBT, just to deal with low level stress and anxiety in everyday life.

Dear Pilot588,

Many thanks for sharing with us your experience of CBT. Worrying a lot can be extremely distressing and it is great to hear that you have found the techniques you learnt through therapy helpful in enabling you to cope with your worries. I'm sure your feedback will be encouraging to others considering accessing CBT for similar difficulties.

Hannah will be pleased to hear your positive feedback and I will make sure I pass your posting on to her.

Best wishes

Tracey
