My husband and I had made the conscious decision to have a birth as natural as can be, meaning no medical intervention or treatment as if someone was ill. That brought us to the Birth Centre at Queen Charlotte's Hospital, which is a midwife led unit with the sole purpose of providing natural birthing experiences. We had the joy of working with an extremely experienced midwife who talked iust through every step of the delivery and supported both mama and papa well during the birth and also afterwards. They truly cared for us and was genuinely interested in our thoughts, feelings and opinions throughout the birth and took all our concerns and questions into consideration. She was honest and direct just as was needed when mama was about to lose her head... They gave us a birthing experience that was as pleasant as could be and therefore enabled both mama and baby to recover really well and really speedily. We attribute this to the calm and relaxed atmosphere that we were able to experience during our stay at the Birth Centre and would wholeheartedly recommend other couples to consider this naturalistic birthing place. To all the staff at the Birth Centre at Queen Charlotte's Hospital - keep up the hard and tireless work as it is truly appreciated and makes people's birthing experiences so much better.
